Get to Know Minho
Do you have a nickname or something people tend to call you around the gym?
People would always have trouble with my name so I would say, just call me minnow, like the fish.Â
Outside of CrossFit, what are some of your favorite hobbies, talents, or skills?
I love sports cars and have a passion for BMW’s (if you couldn’t tell from my tattoo). I enjoy a day spent turning a wrench and I spent many years doing track days, auto crosses, and mountain drives.
How did you find CrossFit Eclipse, and what led you to join?
I started CrossFit in Georgia 8 years ago. I moved to Oklahoma a little over a year ago now from Georgia and needed a new CrossFit home. I visited a couple of places but as soon as I stepped in the door at CrossFit Eclipse, I knew I had to give it a shot. Not only did I do a little research before hand and noticed that the coaches were not your typical brand new L1 coaches, but it was the perfect distance between work and home and the facilities were the best I had ever seen from a CrossFit box.
What’s your proudest moment or biggest accomplishment since joining?
I think the biggest accomplishment I have had is not just one singular moment since I’ve been at CrossFit Eclipse. Rather, it’s the culmination of consistent PR’s even when you’re “past your prime”. I’ve surprised myself over and over again hitting PR’s on movements where I thought I would never have another PRÂ
What keeps you coming back to the gym?
The great programming, great facilities but most importantly, the amazing people and the best coaches.Â
Is there a motto, phrase, or piece of advice you try to live by, either inside or outside the gym?
It’s on my weightlifting belt. “But did you die?” It’s my way of saying, you can always do more and try harder.
What kind of music gets you pumped up during a workout?
CrossFit boxes don’t like my music. lol. Mostly punk rock and metal.
Any fun facts or something most people at the gym might not know about you?
I’m an introvert at heart so if I don’t say hi, it’s not you, it’s me but I love it when people say hi to me.Â
