🏋️‍♀️ March Athlete of the Month: Jantzen Brewer

Jantzen brings energy, personality, and just the right amount of Jantzen flair to every class he steps into. Whether he’s flying through cardio, hyping up the room, or quietly stacking up wins like strict pull-ups, he’s grown so much as an athlete this past year. His consistency, coachability, and willingness to just show up and work have not gone unnoticed. We’re so proud to have him as part of the Eclipse crew and can’t wait for you to learn a little more about him below.

Get to Know Jantzen

Tell us a little bit about yourself and what you do outside of the gym.
I am 25 years old, born in Tulsa but grew up/went to school in Collinsville! I did not attend college after highschool and instead took on conquering the evil world of retail, where I now work as a full time manager soaking up as much money as I can from Old Navy for my personal gain!

Outside of CrossFit, what are some of your favorite hobbies, talents, or skills?
I enjoy anything creative or artsy. I love home decor, so thrift/antique stores haaate to see me coming when I have a free day! I’m part of a book club and enjoy reading! Video games, movies, anything Marvel related, and mostly just doing anything with my friends!

If you could create your own WOD, what would it be? 1 mile run-100 double unders-weighted walking lunges-100 double unders-1 mile run(dont hate the player hate the game)

Who do you love training next to and why? All the women! Shoutout to the men yall are great too but you’ve been demoted

What’s your proudest moment or biggest accomplishment since joining?
Just becoming overall more healthy and having a better understanding of what it means to be a good athlete! Strict pull-ups is a great win too

What’s your go-to pump-up song right now?
“Ratata” by Missy Elliott and Skrillex

Cardio or Lifting?
Cardio, because why would I lift that up?!

What’s your Crossfit spirit animal? (best describes you during a wod)
Maybe some big wild cat? Or like a zebra.

Any fun facts or something most people at the gym might now know about you?
I did band for 8 years of my life(clarinet and saxophone) and then toured the country doing colorguard independently for another year! Taught colorguard shortly at one point! Give me a flag and I’ll start spinning it.

What advice would you give someone who is considering starting at CrossFit Eclipse?
Just signup, any voices in your head saying “you need to be in shape first” you need to ignore, CrossFit is meant to help you get there, listen to everything the coaches tell you, and remember that it’s a blessing to have a body capable of doing something like CrossFit, so don’t waste it!
