For February, we’re spotlighting a duo who exemplify what we love about Eclipse: consistency, kindness, humility, and a focus on growing both inside and outside of the gym. Brad Whitmus & Chandler Huskey first crossed paths through KO competitions and have been side-by-side ever since — competing, supporting, and building a life that blends fitness, faith, and family. Whether you’ve seen them in class or cheering from the sidelines, their presence brings warmth and steady energy to our community. Their story is equal parts sweet, funny, intentional, and inspiring, and we’re thrilled to share it.
Get to know Brad & Chandler
Tell us a little bit about yourself and what you do outside of the gym.
C: I’m a wife, believer in Jesus, chiropractor, dog mom, and music lover.
B: I’m a Christian first, husband second, and a dad third. I like pretty much all things sports. Love to play golf and I’m unfortunately a Raider and Razorback fan. I’m a business owner and actually really enjoy what I do.
How did you two meet originally?
C: I got a last minute (like 1.5 days before go time) invite to cover an injured girl on a KO team aaaand I originally said no but they begged me. Before we even showed up, Brad sent me a friend request on Facebook! I wasn’t aware at the time he had his eye on me, but apparently so.
B: Funny story, we met at KO but actually competed at KO the year before and were in lanes next to each other and didn’t even realize it until we had been dating for some time. We have done KO next to each other in 2022, on a team together (when we first met and only because she was a sub for a girl who was injured last minute and Chan filled in with about a 36-hour notice) in 2023, dating in 2024, and now twice married, 2025 and 2026.
Who is more competitive during workouts?
C: A few years ago I would’ve said me, but probably him now.
B: Oh, I can’t wait to see what she has to say about this, but I’m going to go with me.
Who picks the playlist?
C: Me, please.
B: Her 100%, I have “no musical sense”
If the Open was tomorrow, what movement would each of you pray for and pray against?
C: For= bar muscle ups or handstand walks. Against= thrusters or wallballs
B: If they’re not the same, I’d say for me it’s bench press or push-ups/gymnastic movements. I definitely hate seeing dubs!
Who takes longer to get ready for the gym?
C: Me, but mostly because I’ve just woken up to get there and Brad has been awake for 3 hours.
B: Her only because she has to do minimal stuff to her hair. We are both under 10 min
Do you two have shared hobbies outside of the gym?
C: Is it bad that my initial thought is, “not really”? Haha that’s definitely a big part of our shared lives together, but we’ve recently gotten pretty involved in church together and have fun doing that.
B: We both like being outside, especially if it’s at a national park. We also share the passion of just being healthy, whether that’s food, working out, or lifestyle habits. We’re also involved in Church activities.
What’s your go-to date night or comfort meal?
C: I like to stay in, probably to a fault! I’m sure he put Lanna Thai. If we’re feeling adventurous and like we want to get out of sweatpants (rarity), we both love Nola’s.
B: Lana Thai for sure!
What’s one thing you admire about each other – fitness related or not?
C: Brad is the most easy going, no worries type of person. He always says, “what’s the worst that can happen?” And I have 300 versions ready to report back. I cannot relate, but I do envy it and admire that about him.
B: Something I absolutely admire about her is her commitment to helping others with her discipline and strength. She is constantly treating, preaching, and helping others with healthy lifestyle habits as a chiropractor and lives those same values in her personal fitness journey and dedication to CrossFit.
What do you hope to take on together this year (gym or non-gym goals)?
C: We’ve talked about adding in some endurance (triathlon, etc.) type of training. Honestly, I’m working toward caring less about the gym and focusing more on business and personal aspects of life. I will always love and do CrossFit, but most recent years have forced me to re-prioritize my life a little bit!
B: I am really hoping for a baby 😬
