🏋️♀️ May Athlete of the Month: Karlee Hester
If you’ve ever walked into the 9:30am class and instantly felt the room light up with energy, chances are Karlee Hester had just arrived.
This month, we’re celebrating Karlee as our May Athlete of the Month — and for good reason. She’s consistent, driven, fun, and full of positive energy. From crushing workouts to taking the podium at Festivus with her teammates Jenna and Sara, Karlee embodies the Eclipse spirit of hard work, encouragement, and a whole lot of hustle.
We caught up with Karlee to learn more about her journey, her favorite workouts, and what keeps her showing up even on the toughest days.
No nickname… yet.
Although she doesn’t have a gym nickname, Karlee says she’s “open to suggestions.” With the impact she’s made at Eclipse, we’re sure one’s coming soon.
From deliveries to deadlifts.
Outside the gym, Karlee keeps things moving as a dedicated Amazon driver — proving that endurance and grit aren’t just for WODs.
How it started.
A workout buddy from Okie Flow recommended Eclipse, and the rest is history. “The gym environment is absolutely amazing,” Karlee says. “I love you all so much.”
Her motto? Show up.
“You have to keep going. You have to keep showing up. Consistency is key.” It’s a simple but powerful mantra, and one Karlee truly lives by.
HOUSE music = WOD fuel.
If there’s a beat bumping during class, Karlee’s likely thriving — she’s all about that house music life.
Favorite WOD: Murph.
“Murph definitely. It’s a big challenge to finish the workout. It strengthens your endurance. Builds your glutes. Enhances your cardio. But ultimately strengthens you mentally to take on even more extreme workouts!”
Post-WOD treat?
Karlee’s go-to indulgence: Carnivore protein pancakes. Who says you can’t treat yourself and hit your macros?
A surprise win.
“One thing I never thought I’d accomplish? Winning a competition for sure!” Her recent victory at Festivus alongside teammates Jenna and Sara stands out as a top memory at Eclipse.
What keeps her going.
Positive people. Self-respect. And grit. “I surround myself with very positive and encouraging people, but the love and respect that I have for myself to never give up keeps me going.”
Results that show.
“I can officially run as fast as Jenna now 😊❤️”
Unexpected gains.
“I didn’t ever think I would be physically and mentally strong enough… but here we are doing the most and I love it.”
Advice for new members?
“The hardest days are the most important. Keep showing up.”
Goals on deck.
Karlee’s currently chasing down some big ones: handstand push-ups, double unders, and muscle-ups. Let’s gooo!
If she made her own WOD…
It’d be called #BuildingMuscleBaby, and include:
- Thrusters
- Burpees over bar
- Box jumps
- 1000 meter run
- 5 spicy rounds
Boomer Sooner, baby.
Enough said 💪
Karlee, thank you for showing up, pushing hard, and being such an uplifting part of the Eclipse community. We’re so proud of your progress and can’t wait to see what you crush next.
