Athlete of the Month: Jacob Meyer

At CrossFit Eclipse, we love celebrating the hard work, dedication, and positive energy that our members bring to the gym every day. This month, we’re excited to highlight someone who embodies all of that and more—Jacob Meyer, our March Athlete of the Month!

Jacob has been crushing it in the gym, staying disciplined with his training and nutrition challenge, competing in events like the Monster Games qualifiers and KO in the OK, and consistently pushing himself to be better. But beyond his personal achievements, he’s also one of the most encouraging and supportive members at Eclipse, always cheering on others and bringing a competitive yet uplifting energy to every class.

Let’s get to know Jacob a little better!

Meet Jacob Meyer

Tell us a little about yourself!

Jacob wears many hats—he’s a Lieutenant with the Tulsa Fire Department, a realtor in the Tulsa metro, and a dedicated family man. When he’s not at the gym, you might find him playing golf, traveling, or enjoying a good cigar, whiskey, and conversation with friends.

When did you start CrossFit, and what got you into it?

Jacob first stepped into a CrossFit gym in 2014 while preparing for the fire department. What started as a way to get in shape turned into something much bigger. Along the way, he met Olivia, got married, and never looked back!

What do you love most about CrossFit Eclipse?

For Jacob, community is everything. In a world that can sometimes be full of negativity and challenges, CrossFit Eclipse is a place where encouragement and support thrive. He loves coming in every day to push himself, compete, and cheer others on, knowing that everyone here is in it together.

What is your proudest fitness achievement so far?

As a firefighter, staying fit isn’t just a personal goal—it’s a job requirement. His fitness level can make a difference in high-pressure situations where lives are on the line. CrossFit Eclipse has helped him stay strong and ready, and for that, he’s incredibly grateful.

What’s your favorite workout or movement? Least favorite?

Favorite: Heavy Cleans 💪
Least Favorite: Anything gymnastics—especially if it involves going upside down 🙃

What advice would you give to someone just starting CrossFit?

“It doesn’t get easier. You just get better. Embrace the challenge and continue to do hard things.” 🔥

What’s a fun fact about you that most people don’t know?

Jacob’s adventurous spirit has taken him all over the world—he lived in Africa off and on for five years and has visited over 20 countries! 🌍

Jacob, we’re so proud to have you as part of the CrossFit Eclipse family! Your hard work, dedication, and encouragement make this gym a better place, and we can’t wait to see what you accomplish next.

Be sure to give Jacob a fist bump next time you see him in class and drop a 👏 in the comments to congratulate him!
