When did you first start CrossFit? 2015
Tell us about your sports & fitness background.
I have been active my whole life. I have boxed, competed in Strongman, Powerlifting, and a few triathlons. My wife and kids love hiking and hunting.
How did you first get into CrossFit? How did it go?
My first experience with CrossFit was with another box that did not see the value in correct coaching. 2-3 years later, I met Aaron and felt the focus on correct coaching. From that point I have learned many things from the coaches at Eclipse. I enjoy seeing the coaches willing to learn and impart that wisdom on us in the classes and individually. CrossFit Eclipse strives to give us the value of comradery as well, and I enjoy this as much as the class some days.
What sort of changes have you seen in your body, health, and fitness since starting CrossFit?
I wanted to improve my aerobic capacity when I started at CFE. That capacity is evident today. With help from the CFE coaches, I have seen continual improvement in aerobic capacity, body mass improvement, and increased fitness.
My journey has been unique, not unlike anyone else. But the CFE coaches have helped guide me through many questions and concerns on my journey. I appreciate the advice and continued guidance.
What impact has CrossFit had on your life?
CFE has always been a calming place to focus on fitness, form, and stress relief. I am able to clear my mind and focus on the pain inflicted by the workouts and coaches.
What is your advice for people getting started or thinking about starting CrossFit?
Listen to the coaches, and listen to your body. Communicate between the two. CrossFit is fun, but being hurt is not. The coaches cannot feel what you are feeling. Give them feedback and take their advice.
What are your hobbies, interests, and other talents outside of CrossFit?
Swimming, biking, hiking, hunting, and OKLAHOMA STATE UNIVERSITY COWBOYS!!!! GO POKES!!!
What’s the wallpaper of your phone?
A picture of the reasons to continue to be healthy. My wife and 2 kids.
