This month, we’re pumped to celebrate Lindsey as our April Athlete of the Month! Also known around the gym as “Linds,” sheâs the kind of person who brings strength, laughter, and a big heart to every class.
Fresh off a first-place finish at her first-ever weightlifting meet and a dominant showing in the Open, Lindsey is no stranger to putting in the work. But her impact doesn’t stop there. As a physical therapist at Vitality Therapy and Performance, she spends her Mondays at the gym working on our members, helping them recover, move better, and stay injury-free.
Lindsey joined Eclipse after a job change and needing a later class time and once she experienced the community, she knew sheâd found the right place. She thrives on sprint-style workouts, isnât afraid of a challenge, and proves that consistency and self-belief can take you farther than you ever imagined. Case in point? She went from barely hitting a few strict handstand push-ups to crushing 40 in a workoutâand even repping them at a deficit (thanks, Blair!).
Youâll find Linds lifting heavy, chasing big goals (230# clean & jerk, 180# snatch), and working on her legless rope climbs and muscle-upsâall while reminding others that âcomparison is the thief of joy.â
When sheâs not at the gym, sheâs probably outdoors, hanging with friends and family, or snacking on dried mangos and Nerd Clusters.
Linds, weâre proud of the way you show upâfor yourself, for your goals, and for our people. Thanks for making CrossFit Eclipse better. Letâs go get that 230! đ„
- Do you have a nickname or something people tend to call you around the gym? LindsÂ
- Outside of CrossFit, what are some of your favorite hobbies, talents, or skills? I enjoy hanging out with friends and family and being outdoors in some capacity.Â
- How did you find CrossFit Eclipse, and what led you to join? I changed jobs and needed a later class time. CFE was conveniently located from work, but once I met the people and got a feel for the community I was there to stay.Â
- Is there a motto, phrase, or piece of advice you try to live by, either inside or outside the gym? I consistently think of 2 phrases both inside and outside the gym: 1. Comparison is the thief of joy. 2. Whatever you do, do it because you enjoy it.Â
- What kind of music gets you pumped up during a WOD? Any favorite artists or genres? Honestly, once the WOD starts I donât really hear anythingÂ
I enjoy 2000s hip hop and really anything Darius plays lol
- Whatâs your favorite WOD (Workout of the Day), and why? Idk that I have a particular WOD thatâs a favorite. I generally like sprint style workouts more because that style is more in my wheelhouse. Not an endurance girlie.Â
- When itâs time for a treat, what are your go-to cheat foods? I could probably eat a whole bag of dried mangos. Love me some Nerd Clusters too.Â
- Whatâs one thing youâve accomplished at CrossFit Eclipse that you never thought you would? Truly any strict HSPU capacity. Never did I ever imagine Iâd be able to do 40 reps in a workout, let alone be able to do them at a deficit (thanks Blair). Prior to Eclipse, I could barely do 10 from an abmat in a 10 min EMOM.Â
- What keeps you motivated on your CrossFit journey, even on the tough days? The community. Some days I only go to see my friendsÂ
- What changes or results have you noticed since joining CrossFit Eclipse? I have gotten way stronger (shoutout Barbell Club) and my gymnastics have improved far more than I ever imagined (still have a long way to go though).
- Do you have any special memories or moments at CFE that stand out to you? Seeing how much we all supported each other at KO was pretty special.
- Have you experienced any life changes since starting CrossFit that you didnât expect, either physically or mentally? Oh man, both. Physically, I feel more in shape than I ever did in college. Mentally, I have learned so much about myself. The impact of self-talk is immense and I still work on it daily.Â
- If you could give one piece of advice to someone new at CrossFit Eclipse, what would it be? You canât redline every workout and progress isnât linear. Consistency is key.Â
- What are your current training goals or personal records (PRs) youâre aiming to hit? Would love to have a 230# C&J and 180# snatch. Current training goals include conquering my fear of legless rope climbs and stringing together RMUs.Â
- If you could design your own WOD and name it after yourself, what would it include? HmmmmâŠIâd like a barbell movement (preferably not thrusters), double unders, and handstand walks. Make it a partner workout because fitness is more fun with friends.Â
- Cowboys or Sooners? (Feel free to explain your choice!)Â neitherÂ
 go sports!Â
