I started Cross fit 1/2013
What is your favorite movement?
My Favorite movement is back squats and dead lifts
Favorite workout?
My favorite workout would be any of the workout that incorporate rowing,/running, dead lifts or back squats.
What is your least favorite movement?
My least favorite would be snatches
Least favorite workout?
Any one that incorporates snatches, as they are very difficult for me ( I need to get stronger)
Tell us about your sports & fitness background.
My sports back ground since high school is limited. During high school I was involved in basket ball. My fitness background consist of many years of gym memberships, including boot camps, running. yoga classes and boxing. You name it I have tried it and have never consistently stuck with any of the programs, largely due to slow progress or minimal results.
How did you first get into CrossFit?
I actually started Cross fit after googling “kettle bells” and it sent me to Crossfit. I visited Eclipse at the old location, started and was hooked.
How did it go?
Initially, I thought I was going to die. But the coaches and other members where so supportive and I like how each workout could be tailored to the individuals skill level. Being the highly competitive person I am, I was determined not to be defeated. So I continued on and I found that I was getting better at each skill. So here I am 21 months later and look forward to coming to class daily.
What sort of changes have you seen in your body, health, and fitness since starting CrossFit?
The changes I have saw include, weight loss, toning and strength. Over the summer I have become more in controlled of my diet and have recognized that I can were my clothes better. Many people that I have not seen for a few months comment and say that I look so much better.
What impact has CrossFit had on your life?
Crossfit has impacted my life in so many ways. I am much healthier, along with being off my medication for diabetes and hypertension. I have more energy and feel more confident.
What is your advice for people getting started or thinking about starting CrossFit?
My advice would be “Go for it”. Crossfit is adaptable to all ages and fitness levels. If you stick with CrossFit you will be able to attain your fitness goals. I am in the best shape of my entire life!
What are your hobbies, interests, and other talents outside of CrossFit?
My hobbies are shopping and an avid football fan. My talents/interest outside of Crossfit would be to work with and encourage young people to attain their highest potential.
