About the Business/Profession

Name of the business or profession: Eagle Rock Realty & Property Management

Description of the business/services offered: Commercial, Investment, and Residential Real Estate brokerage services, as well as residential + commercial property management & leasing.

How long have you been in this business or profession?: 5 years

What inspired you to start or choose this career path? I grew tired of the monotony, and mundane nature, of my 9:00-5:00 HR and Accounting job. My wife and I have always been diligent savers, and investors, and when we began investing in Real Estate, we saw how beneficial that was for us. I got my Real Estate license 5 years ago in order to provide guidance to Buyers, Sellers, Landlords, and Tenants, since I recognized a need for clients to have a Real Estate Agent who had actual first-hand experience navigating real estate solutions across a myriad of scenarios. The flexibility of “being my own boss,” as well as growing into a leader who is actively equipping and training my agents, and clients, to maximize their results, has solidified my stance that this is the career field I want to be involved in for the foreseeable future.

Connection to the Community

How does their business or profession serve the local community?: In all likelihood, Real Estate, whether it be purchased or sold for primary residential use, investment use, or to house business operations, will be the most financially significant decisions that our clients will make, during the course of their lives. Those clients who participate in Real Estate transactions put an immense level of trust into their Real Estate Agent, and our job is to keep a watchful eye of their process of buying, selling, or leasing property. Without a high degree of Real Estate acumen, and without the right connections to affiliated professionals (Inspectors, HVAC technicians, CPA’s, Insurance Agents, etc.), the Public is at risk of catastrophic results in their Real Estate dealings. We are here to protect, advocate for, and serve our clients to give them their best results.

Any notable achievements or contributions you would like to highlight?: I hold the record in 2021, 2022 and 2023 as the top sales volume producer amongst the ~75 agents within our Brokerage. I also recently won the NAIOP (National Commercial Real Estate Trade Association) Oklahoma Commercial Deal of the Year award for providing Buyer Agency services on an $8,351,000 retail complex in the Tulsa Hills Shopping Center. I feel that my biggest accomplishment professionally lies in my ability to recruit, and train, new agents with no history of Real Estate sales, to be successful and to be leaders amongst their peers.

How can other gym members benefit from your services or products?: I LOVE talking about Real Estate problems, complexities, strategies, and the market as a whole. I have pledged to give as much free advice to as many people as I can. If gym members have a burning question about Real Estate, or are going through something difficult pertaining to Real Property, I love to listen to those questions and concerns, and offer guidance without expecting anything in return. If a gym member is looking to invest in Real Estate, or wants to sell or buy property of any kind, I’d love to listen, learn, and help however I can!

Personal Connection to CrossFit

How has CrossFit influenced or impacted their business or professional life?: I have long held the belief that “being the dumbest person in the room,” is probably the best position to be in, if I’m wanting to grow, develop, and not stay stagnant. As soon as I reach a new milestone, or goal, at the gym, I’m reminded that I’m truly just beginning my journey. It’s inspiring to me to see the consistency, tenacity, and endurance of our athletes at CrossFit Eclipse. My work, and raising 2 toddlers (3rd on the way), is extremely demanding most days, and involves solving complex problems with people and property. It’s amazing how the stress and mental fatigue melts away when I get my shoes on and just show up to the gym for the WOD. Coming to the gym is like a reset button for me, and the days I least want to go are likely the days I most likely need to show up, reset, and press on. The meaningful connections I’ve made at the gym also can’t be under-stated. There’s built in accountability when you’ve been gone for a week, show up to the gym, and someone says “where have you been?!?” Additionally, Jess Groden and Lisa Riggs are both connections I’ve made at the gym who now work with me as Agents.

Are there skills or lessons from CrossFit that you apply to your business/professional life?: Coasting, for me, is not an option. I have been a professional musician, distance runner, and a top-producing Real Estate Broker. I often like to choose the arduous path, over the easy one, since the enduring pain of regret stings more than the temporary pain of discipline. CrossFit, for me, has re-shaped my mental fortitude. Almost every workout (especially the 30 minute AMRAPS) I reach a point where I’m thinking to myself “this sucks… I want to quit and drive home and take a nap…” What keeps me in check is the person next to me, whether they are brand new to CrossFit, or an expert athlete. I see them working hard, and I am reminded that “now is not the time to give up and press the easy button.” Parenting, and running a business, can feel like those 30 minute AMRAP’s, at times. CrossFit is programming an endurance mindset, which has spread into the many facets of my life in a wonderful way.
